Create your first site
From nothing to a live site in about ten minutes. Sign up, create a project, describe what you want, answer a question or two, and watch it build. This page walks through that first run.
1. Sign up
Go to startupjs.ai and click Try for free. New accounts start on a 30-day free trial with starting AI credit — no card needed.
2. Create a project
You land on your dashboard — the home for all your projects. Click New project in the sidebar. Each project is one site, and it gets an address like calm-forest-78.startupjs.ai right away (you can rename it, or connect your own domain later).
Open the project and click through to your site — the AI Builder chat opens with it, ready for your first message.
3. Describe what you want
Write a few sentences about the site you have in mind. Plain language is exactly right — describe it the way you'd describe it to a friend:
"I run a small bakery. I want a site with our weekly menu, photos of the pastries, opening hours, and a form where people can pre-order a cake for pickup."
Don't worry about completeness — you'll refine everything afterwards. If it helps, mention the mood too: "warm and cozy", "minimal and modern", "playful".
4. Answer the AI's questions
For anything that could reasonably go two ways — "should pre-orders require a phone number?" — the AI asks before building, as a short card with a few options. The first option is always its recommendation, so if you don't have an opinion, just click it. There are at most a few questions, often none.
5. Watch it build
The chat shows live progress while the AI works: what it's doing right now, and its running notes if you expand them. A first build typically takes a few minutes. You can press Stop at any time if you change your mind — the AI stops where it is, and your next message picks things up from there.
When it finishes, it summarizes what it built.
6. Look around, then iterate
Open your site and click through it like a visitor would. Then go back to the chat and say what you'd like different — one thing at a time works best:
- "Make the menu page the home page."
- "The photos are too small — make them bigger, in a grid."
- "Add a page with directions and a map link."
- "Rename 'Products' to 'Pastries' everywhere."
Anything you can describe, you can change. And nothing is ever lost: every chat turn has a Restore to here button that rolls the whole site back to how it was at that point.
