#AI Assistants

This plugin gives your site its own AI that talks to your visitors. A support chat that answers from your content. A quiz grader that returns a score with an explanation. A negotiation-practice partner that plays the other side. You describe the assistant in the AI Builder; visitors then converse with it live on your site.

Don't confuse it with the AI Builder itself: the Builder makes your site and talks to you; assistants are part of your site and talk to your visitors.

#What you can build with it

Assistants can do more than chat: they can return structured results (scores, decisions, filled forms) your pages then display, and they can be given specific abilities — like searching your site's data — that you approve as part of building.

#Turning it on

On your project's page, switch the AI Assistants card on — no setup, no keys. Assistants run through the startupjs.ai AI service, and their usage is metered to your account's AI credit exactly like the Builder's own usage.

Each assistant defaults to a fast, inexpensive model; if one needs deeper reasoning (grading, assessment), ask the Builder to switch that assistant to the smarter tier.

#You see everything

The admin panel's Site AI page is your window into it all:

• Every conversation, readable in full. Nothing your visitors say to your site's AI is hidden from you.
• A playground to try each assistant yourself before (and after) visitors do.
• Today's message count and cost, per assistant.
• An on/off switch per assistant — if one misbehaves, flip it off instantly and tell the Builder what went wrong.

#Costs stay bounded, by design

• Each visitor has a per-minute and per-day message cap.
• Your project has a daily total cap that grows with your plan.
• An assistant only ever does what its description declares — which visitors may talk to it, what data it can see, what actions it may take. A visitor typing clever things at it can't grant it new powers.
